Generex Biotechnology Featured in the Second Flaherty Special Situations
2008 APR 26 - (NewsRx.com) — Generex Biotechnology Corporation's
(NASDAQ:GNBT) race to pioneer drug delivery of oral insulin through the inner lining ofthe mouth was recently featured in an article that appeared in the April 2, 2008 second issue of Flaherty Special Situations Newsletter published by Flaherty Financial News Inc. The piece reported on the company's first commercial order in India and a $20.7 million capital raise. Subsequently, Generex announced North American initiation of its Generex Oral-lyn(TM) Phase in Diabetes study to compare efficacy with that of standard regular injected insulin therapy. Unlike inhaled insulin products, buccally-absorbed Generex Oral-lyn does not enter the lungs and leave harmful deposits there as inhaled products do.
Editor Bob Flaherty believes that GNBT is a contrarian opportunity for those who can look beyond the moment at a spectacular emerging growth stock on the bargain counter. The stock price of Generex declined along with those of its famous rivals, who withdrew their inhaled insulin products because of deposits left in lungs. But since Generex's product is absorbed through the inner lining ofthe mouth and does not leave harmful lung deposits, Generex has become the leader in the 80-year-old race to deliver needle-free, pain-free insulin. So editor Bob Flaherty believes the withdrawal of the famous competitors was a plus for Generex, not a negative.
